AMSA Announces Charity Partnership with Move for Hunger

September 25, 2014

(Alexandria, VA) — The American Moving & Storage Association is pleased to announce the launch of their official charity partnership with Move for Hunger, a non-profit organization that works with relocation companies to combat the growing hunger problem in the United States and across North America.

Official announcement of the partnership was made by AMSA Chairman Steve Burns during the association’s fall board meetings on September 19, where he stated that the two organizations have committed to work together to further Move for Hunger’s charitable objectives by promoting its mission, activities and engagement opportunities to AMSA members. Burns went on to say that AMSA’s executive committee voted earlier this year to designate Move for Hunger an official charity partner and, in doing so, expressed their desire to elevate and promote the organization as a top charity choice to AMSA members, including van lines and van line agent networks, independent movers, and other household goods moving and storage industry partners.

“Adam Lowy has done amazing work in putting together an organization that has not only served the cause of feeding the hungry in this country but that has also helped to tell the story of a noble, hard-working and eternally generous industry that cares and wants to give back. AMSA is proud to work with Move for Hunger and this impressive young man,” said Scott Michael, AMSA President and CEO.

“AMSA has always been a wonderful supporter of Move For Hunger. We are thrilled to launch an official charitable partnership with an organization that represents the best the relocation industry has to offer. Our goal for this partnership is to offer more opportunities to recognize those that are providing socially responsible options for their customers and to continue to bring on more partners to expand our impact on hunger relief. Together, we can make fighting hunger when moving an industry standard,” said Adam Lowy, Executive Director.
