National & Local Movers Set for Election Analysis, Top Quality Sessions & Exciting Events at the AMSA 2016 Conference & Expo in New Orleans

Moving & Storage Industry, March 20-23

(Alexandria, VA) — More than 600 executives and leaders from the nation's moving and storage companies and suppliers will get exclusive election analysis and industry insights at the American Moving & Storage Association's 2016 Conference & Expo in New Orleans. Attendees will also have access to exciting special events, like the Evening of the Stars, which honors the best and brightest in the industry, from national van lines to independent movers, as well as the top drivers for lifetime achievement, household goods, special commodities, and rookie of the year. During the Monday General Session, top political reporters and columnists from Bloomberg News, Newsweek, The Hill, The New Orleans Advocate and The Austin American-Statesman will discuss the presidential and congressional elections, and offer their forecasts for what to expect the rest of the year. AMSA Chair Glen Dunkerson and President and CEO Scott Michael will also talk about the state of the industry. In the Tuesday General Session, industry leaders will offer their views from the perspectives of national van lines, agents and independent movers, discussing hot topics like working with tech-savvy customers and adapting to a constantly changing business climate.

Dozens of education sessions will cover a wide range of topics, from using technology to better reach customers to complying with federal regulations to marketing to women and millennials, as well as many more. The Expo Hall will include more than 80 top suppliers offering the latest products, strategies and business solutions. Special events include yearly favorites like the AMPAC Pinewood Derby, ProMover Classic Golf Tournament, MSI Silent and Live Auctions, and the Evening of the Stars Dinner and Awards Ceremony.

In addition, 40Below, the industry's young professionals group, will host a community service project to help assemble hygiene kits that will go to disaster relief efforts, missions and homeless shelters. A representative from the New Orleans Mission will pick up the kits on Tuesday, March 22. Also, Move for Hunger, the official charity partner of the American Moving & Storage Association dedicated to fighting hunger in the community, will honor their Mover of the Year during the Evening of the Stars. Last year, nearly 500 moving companies donated more than 4.2 million meals to families in need through Move for Hunger.
