April 5, 2016
(Alexandria, VA) — The Moving & Storage Institute (MSI) has honored Maureen Beal, chair and CEO of National Van Lines, with the prestigious MSI Lifetime Achievement Award for Distinguished Service. Beal received the highest honor bestowed by the moving and storage industry during AMSA's 2016 Conference & Expo in New Orleans.
A member of AMSA's Board of Directors, Beal earned accolades for a legacy of providing the highest quality of service to consumers as well as helping lead the fight against moving fraud. She has also been a leader in numerous women's leader and entrepreneur organizations, and her company has been named one of the top 100 places for women to work.
"The Lifetime Achievement Award for Distinguished Service is presented each year by the Moving & Storage Institute to an individual who has demonstrated leadership, professionalism and integrity both within our industry and in their community. This is absolutely the highest honor that we can bestow upon one of our peers," said Katrina Blackwell, MSI Board chair.
"For the past 20 years, Maureen has taken a leading role in warning consumers of rogue, unlicensed and uninsured movers. She also understands how precious the memories loaded onto her trucks every day are to their owners. I am proud to say the MSI received many letters of enthused support for her nomination, including colleagues from coast to coast, both inside and outside the industry," said Pat McLaughlin, executive director of the Illinois Movers' and Warehousemen's Association.
"This has been such a wonderful journey. I truly thank the MSI, Katrina and Pat. My whole time in this business has been a dream, and I would do it all over again. I hope that there's many other young people and women in this business who will be as fulfilled as I have been over the years," said Beal while accepting the award.
The Lifetime Achievement Award for Distinguished Service is presented each year by the MSI to an individual who has demonstrated leadership, professionalism and integrity and made a significant contribution through technology, operations and/or sales innovation that has led to industry growth and advancement.
