AMSA sponsors annual moving and storage industry awards to recognize the best in our business and to honor outstanding accomplishment in a variety of areas.
Moving and Storage Agent of the Year Service Excellence Award reflects AMSA's and the industry’s commitment to excellent customer service. The award is presented to agents nominated by their affiliated van line (based on customer surveys and van line experience) and is chosen by a panel of industry experts.
Independent Mover of the Year Award - “The Indy” reflects AMSA's and the industry’s commitment to recognize outstanding performance among independent movers. Outstanding performance can be demonstrated in a variety of ways with examples including community service, employee relations, or innovative operations or customer service practices.
Super Van Operator Awards recognize drivers and owner-operators who provide the best in safe, reliable, and customer-oriented household goods truck transportation. Judging criteria include miles driven, accidents (preventable or non-preventable), lifetime driving record, time out of service for any “hours of service” or equipment violations, financial responsibility, community involvement, customer service, driving awards and outside interests and activities.
Summit Award for Supplier Members Our new Summit Award reflects the association's commitment to recognize outstanding performance among our industry's suppliers. This can be quantified in many ways, including but not limited to: leadership, visionary or out-of-the-box thinking, customer focus, and developing an innovative product or service that advances the moving and storage industry.
Fleet Safety Awards recognize overall safety; improvement in safety, and creativity and leadership in safety program design.
- Mileage Awards are are judged in four categories. An award is given to the carrier in each mileage category that has the best weighted combination of the lowest DOT recordable accident rate per million miles of vehicle operation and the lowest vehicle and driver out-of-service rate.
- The Fleet Safety Improvement Award recognizes a carrier demonstrating the best three-year trend of improvement in its DOT recordable accident rate, rather than just the best improvement over the prior year.
- The Safety Initiative Award is given to a carrier whose single component of its safety program does the best job of improving its overall safety and risk management position.
In addition, the Moving & Storage Instutute presents the annual Lifetime Achievement Award for Distinguished Service.
All awards are presented at AMSA's Annual Education Conference & Expo.
