Eligibility Requirements

RIM® Certification is available at two levels: Corporate Certification and Individual Certification. Corporate Certification is available only to moving and storage companies. Van lines, forwarding companies, relocation companies and corporate/government accounts are not eligible for RIM® Certification. Only RIM®-Certified moving and storage companies are eligible to hold themselves out as a "REGISTERED INTERNATIONAL MOVER". Corporate Certification is non-transferable.

Generally, Individual RIM® Certification is available only to qualified employees working for RIM®-Certified moving and storage companies. Exceptions are that qualified employees of non-moving and storage companies or organizations involved in the international household goods relocation business (example: a van line administrator) are eligible for Individual RIM® Certification. Individuals who pass the RIM® Certification Examination and who otherwise meet the RIM® Standards may hold themselves out as "CERTIFICATIED INDIVIDUAL MEMBER, REGISTERED INTERNATIONAL MOVER PROGRAM", but may not hold themselves out as a "REGISTERED INTERNATIONAL MOVER". Individual Certification is, generally, transferable except for employees of RIM®-Certified Companies who transfer their Individual Certification only to other RIM®-Certified Companies.
